HOMEWORK 4 Jeffrey

Disseminate Isolation (still working out the title) oil on paper 2012 18"x 24"

ZANE WHITE

Second piece for the Prison Divestment Campaign. This work explores the separation of families due to incarceration and comments on the prison of our own homes.

I feel that the message of incarceration is done well with the strong brush strokes and harsh red colors. The figure is represented very strongly, yet the choice to do the figure(s) achromatic speaks to the muted voice the character has. Being a prison in her very own home or in a facility her voice is muted.

The Boro Gallery
The Boro had to move, but only a month later it has reopened in the beautiful Village of Corrales. The new address is 4627 B Corrales rd. Located on the west side of Corrales rd. across from Kim Jew Photography.

Good qualities would be use of color in flesh tone.
I also enjoy the off centered focal point. The diagonal composition also helps the dynamic of the painting.
Improvements are difficult, but use of frame could be considered more, and possibly darker tone could be incorporated in more, but that might just be preference.
