Homework: 10/7

PART I:

Our next paint we are making is egg tempera! These will be used for our master copy/ master study paintings. We will be doing this, along with making and preparing a panel on Wednesday. Bring in all of your paint making supplies  to class on Wednesday:

~pigments
~jar/ tupperware to put egg yolks in
~surface to mix on
~palette knife
~water cup
~paint brushes
~containers for paint (you can use tubes, small Tupperware's, or plastic snap top containers)
~rag
~dust mask
~cheese cloth (optional)

PLEASE NOTE: Egg tempera is a more delicate paint than the acrylic or oil we have used thus far. I want you to play with application and see how it responds. Do not use crazy abrasive brushes (research best brushes for this medium) and apply paint much like colored pencils, so far as blending is concerned.

(good for mixing agents and emulsions)

PART II:

Start thinking about alternative painting processes you want to present for the class during our two days of out-of-the-box painting. If you want to work with a partner you may present a combination of two or more processes together. These will not be due until after our MC/ MS projects.
