  1. Your study radiates a certain notion that it was created before the copy if it was from his studio. It seems that the study is an earlier piece of his work while the copy is much older and wiser. The palette variation definitely holds truth in both which allows for these to work well together.

  2. These two go together so well, this work great as both your artwork and style and your masters work. This feels very much like you and I can see why you are drawn to this artist. There even feels to be a connected narrative between the two of a sort of sadness. There is something about that mark right behind the figure in the study that bothers me, it feel like you wiped something away there but then didn't fill it in. It would have been nice to maybe see some more blues in the face of the study but works well without it there anyways.

  3. Great job on both paintings. They look like they were done by Dion Archibald. I like the off-center position of the figure in your study. that makes the entire image more interesting. Because the face in the copy seems to be tilted back, I wonder why you have the head tilted back in your study as well?

  4. Both paintings definitely look like they were made by the same artist. I love these paintings. they feel so emotional. I think your use of bright neon yellow and brushstrokes really paired the two images together.

  5. This study of this artist's work makes me believe that it's the same individual in both but close up and far away. The artist's work almost reminds me of a zombie as he could have stitches in his face on the copy. Great use of color palette in your study. The decision to have the subject off center was a very smart choice in your piece.

  6. I love that the artist you chose has a very similar style to your style of painting. The paintings in a series look like a story. Both of these paintings look like they came from the same artist but they are missing a couple of scenes in between. Their is an air of mystery that makes the viewer fill in a narrative.

  7. I like these paintings. Style wise I am not entirely convinced that they are the same artist, but you did do a good job working towards that. I agree with Rabia about the story. It feels incomplete, although I can definitely see bits and pieces of a narrative in there. I think your composition choice was excellent in figure placement for your study. While it does somewhat lead the eye away it is fitting for the attitude of the figure. And at the same time I don't feel like my eye wanders off the surface, it simply takes its time coming back around.

  8. I am glad to see you found an artist with a very similar style to your own painting! It seems to be a clear narrative between the two images, and I think that they work really well together. The composition works really well between the two paintings. good job!
